By partnering with local organisations, schools, charities, and volunteers, we’re helping to build a more inclusive, vibrant, and supportive environment for everyone who travels with us.
We’re proud to support Barnabus and their vital work with people experiencing homelessness. Our team has taken on exciting challenges like the Manchester Dragon Boat Race and Inflatable 5k, raising funds and awareness to make a real difference in our community.
We’ve transformed lift shafts at St Werburgh’s Road and Etihad with stunning murals by local artists Ethan Lemon and Lei-Mai Cregeen. Featuring vibrant designs inspired by wildlife, heritage, and the unique character of our communities, these artworks brighten the network and celebrate the spirit of Greater Manchester.
Across our network, we embrace every opportunity to bring people together, from International Women’s Day and World Kindness Day to Manchester Day, World Children’s Day, and the International Day of Families. We’re proud to keep Greater Manchester moving while shining a spotlight on the people who make it all possible.
We’re passionate about helping young people travel safely and confidently. At Trafford College, our stalls at the Altrincham and Stretford campuses give us the chance to chat with new and returning students about responsible travel, covering everything from ticketing and antisocial behaviour to making the most of the network.
We’ve developed partnerships with 60 schools and colleges, reaching over 19,000 students aged 10-18 across Greater Manchester. Our engagement goes further: we work with primary schools, high schools, colleges, and universities to deliver interactive safety sessions, attend career and freshers’ fairs, and even bring learning to life through virtual reality experiences. It’s all about inspiring the next generation and keeping our communities connected.
Charity Fashion Show & Sale – We hosted our first student-led fashion show in partnership with Barnabus at The Manchester College, featuring 27kg of unclaimed lost property from our tram network, all repurposed for a great cause.
Community Partnerships – Working closely with Barnabus, Manchester Deaf Centre, and Manchester Sensory Service, we’re building trust through fundraising, colleague training, and volunteering events that make a real difference.
Depot Visits – We welcome groups of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to our depots, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how we keep Greater Manchester moving and showcasing the many areas of our business.
Customer Reassurance Stalls – Come and say hello! We regularly host stalls across the network to provide travel advice, share information, and even offer giveaways. Plus, our four annual Meet the Manager events give customers the chance to speak directly with our leadership team.
