Meet Tony – Engineering Team Leader
I’ve worked at Metrolink for several years now in a variety of roles. Through my time here, I’ve developed into an experienced Engineering Team Leader looking after a team of around 10 engineers. We work together to ensure that the trams are maintained and that the fleet is ready for service. There’s always room to grow and develop at Metrolink, whether that’s into a new role, or if you just want to become better at your job.
Meet Nathan – Digital Signal & Telecoms Team Leader
I manage a team of four, and we are a 24 hour operation looking after the signalling and telecommunication on the network. The thing I love most about my job is that you can see the difference you’re making on a regular basis. When there is an issue and something needs fixing, it is very satisfying to know that we get the network back up and running.

Permanent Way (P-Way) Maintainer
Our P-Way teams keep the network on track. They inspect, maintain and repair the tramway infrastructure, helping to identify potential issues before they become problems and ensuring trams can operate safely and efficiently.
Tram Technician
Our Tram Technicians maintain, inspect and repair our fleet of trams from our depot workshops. From scheduled maintenance to fault finding and repairs, they help ensure our vehicles are safe, reliable and ready for service every day.
Signalling & Telecommunications Technician
These specialist engineers maintain the systems that keep our network running smoothly. From signalling equipment to communication systems, they use their technical expertise to ensure trams move safely and reliably across the network.
