Meet Lisa – Service Delivery Director

Meet Matt – Operations Controller
Part of my role as an Operations Controller is to help keep the network running on time, keeping everybody safe and making sure that our customers have a great journey. Every day is different, which is what is great about this job. You deal with different situations daily and there’s always a new challenge to overcome. I started working at Metrolink in 2018, first as a driver and now I work in the Network Management Centre. There are always plenty of opportunities at Metrolink to try something different.
Meet Millie – Recruitment Advisor
I support the recruitment of skilled and diverse talent across the organisation, working closely with managers to understand their hiring needs and deliver effective recruitment solutions. From advertising vacancies and engaging with candidates to coordinating interviews and managing offers, I play a key role in ensuring a smooth and professional recruitment process to ensure we attract the best talent.
What I enjoy most is interacting with different people across the business at all levels, understanding their business functions and, how my role has a positive impact on the team objectives and the wider business.
Meet Mike - Project Manager
What I love most about my job is seeing projects come to life and knowing that the work we do as a team has a lasting impact on the network. As the Construction Assurance Manager, no two days are ever the same, I work with multiple teams, contractors and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. Every project brings its own challenges and opportunities, which keeps the role interesting and rewarding.
Whether it’s supporting infrastructure improvements, overseeing construction activities or working collaboratively to solve problems, there’s always something new to learn What stands out most about KAM is the strong sense of teamwork. People are always willing to share their knowledge, support one another, its feels like a community. It’s a great environment to develop professionally, build relationships and be part of projects that make a real difference to Greater Manchester’s transport network.
Meet Matt – Health and Safety Advisor
I love being out on the network, working alongside colleagues and helping to create an environment where safety is everyone’s responsibility. As a Health & Safety Advisor, I play a part in supporting a positive safety culture, making sure people feel supported, listened to and confident in raising concerns and sharing ideas.
A key part of my role is looking at ways we can work differently, how we can improve processes and feedback is always an opportunity to learn and grow as a business. It’s rewarding to see changes to ways of working making a real difference in keeping both our customers and colleagues safe.
I particularly enjoy working closely with our frontline teams, recognising great safety practices and supporting colleagues to overcome challenges. knowing we’ve helped make the network safer and stronger, is what makes this role so rewarding.

Projects
The Projects team help shape the future of Metrolink’s network. Working on a diverse range of initiatives from track and infrastructure upgrades, technology enhancements, lift modernisation and turnstile improvements, the team plays a vital role in improving accessibility, performance and customer satisfaction on the network. Working closely with engineering colleagues, contractors and stakeholders, they turn ideas into reality, managing the concept through to completion to support our network evolving and making a difference to the operational running of the network and to the overall customer experience.
Finance
Behind every successful journey is a team helping to keep the business on track. The Finance team works at the heart of KAM, providing the insight and support that enables the business to operate efficiently and plan for the future.
From managing budgets and financial reporting to forecasting future investment and monitoring expenditure, the team helps ensure resources are used effectively and deliver value for money. Working in partnership with colleagues across the organisation, their work supports everything from day to day operations and major network improvements to investing in our people and shaping future opportunities. Together, they help keep Metrolink moving today while planning for tomorrow.
Information Technology (IT)
Our IT team supports colleagues across the business by ensuring they have the systems, tools and technology they need to work effectively and stay connected. From resolving technical issues and maintaining critical systems to supporting new technologies, every day brings something different. The team plays a key role in keeping the business running smoothly, finding solutions, improving processes and helping colleagues get the most from the technology they use. With technology constantly evolving, IT offers a dynamic and rewarding career where no two days are the same.
